Detergent and personal care formulation calculator
Choose what you are making and enter the batch size; the calculator gives the weight of every material and the water that makes up the rest. Each product starts from editable default percentages, and you can add any Al-Maraseel material or one from elsewhere, then print a batch sheet or send the quantities to your quote list.

Caustic soda, acids and bleach are hazardous: wear gloves and eye protection and work in a ventilated area. Never mix bleach or chlorine powder with acids or acidic bathroom cleaners, which releases toxic chlorine gas.
How to use the calculator
- Choose the product, or “Custom product” to build a formula from scratch.
- Enter the batch size in kilograms.
- Adjust the percentages, or add optional additions, Al-Maraseel materials or materials from elsewhere. Water is worked out so the total is 100%.
- For bleach: choose dilution and enter both strengths, or making it from powder and enter the powder's available chlorine.
- Print the batch sheet with its checklist, or add the quantities to your quote list and send it on WhatsApp.
Frequently asked questions
How much caustic soda neutralises sulfonic acid?
About 125 g of caustic soda per kilo of sulfonic acid (LABSA 96%), or 12.5% of the acid weight; the calculator works it out for you in the dishwashing formula. Add the caustic soda in portions and check the pH until 7–8, because acid strength varies a little between sources.
How do I dilute concentrated bleach?
Concentrated bleach weight = batch weight × target strength ÷ concentrated strength, and the rest is water. For example, 100 kg of 5% bleach from 12% bleach needs 41.7 kg of bleach and 58.3 kg of water.
How much chlorine powder and soda ash make bleach?
Calcium hypochlorite reacts with soda ash to give sodium hypochlorite and a white calcium carbonate precipitate. 100 kg of 5% bleach from 70% available-chlorine powder needs about 6.8 kg of powder and 3.6 kg of pure soda ash; the calculator adds a small soda ash excess so all the calcium settles out.
Are the default percentages fixed?
No. They are a common starting point and change with the strength and type of each material, the thickness and the cost you want. Adjust them, test a small batch, and ask us on WhatsApp if you need help with the formula.
